工商管理硕士属于专业硕士,本专业致力于培养熟悉现代商业理论,具有实践经验,满足社会需求的,具有全球视野,社会责任感和创新精神的务实的,具有综合技能,高度应用导向的管理人才。专业培养特色在于学生都是具有一定工作经验的在职人员,经过系统的理论学习和实践训练后,学生处理企业管理问题的能力会得到迅速提升。根据国际学生的特点,工商管理硕士(国际学生)的培养致力于培养具有全球战略眼光,具有跨文化沟通能力的,具备企业资本运作,公司理财,国际金融和国际商务知识的企业领导者和高级职业经理人。

四.培养方式和学制

1.管理硕士的导师是具有指导研究生资格的教授或副教授。导师的安排通过双向选择的形式,学生提交研究方向,工商管理硕士教育中心与学生协商后确定最后的导师人选。

2.教学方法立足于课堂讲授,案例研究和其它互动式教学。教学内容简明,教学内容综合理论与实践,强调创造性思维和实践管理能力的培养。采用双语教学。

3.学生需要上交研究报告。研究报告根据学生的实际情况可以采用多种形式。包括对企业管理经验的问题的深度研究,也可以是具有分析和研究的案例写作。

4.为提高学生的论文写作水平,在选修课中可采用论文和案例写作的方法。

5. 学制一般为2.5-4年。

五.课程、学分要求和考核方法

根据工商管理硕士的培养计划和国家要求,结合学生的实际情况,工商管理硕士采用学分制。国际学生的最低学分要求是46分。大多数课程考核采用考试形式(开卷或闭卷)。课程分为三类:公共课,基础课和专业课。公共课要求20  学分,基础课要求8 学分,专业必修课要求12 学分,专业选修课不低于 6 学分。具体课程设置见附录。

考核方法包括:

A:考勤/作业(30%)+期末考试(闭卷)(70%)

B:考试(闭卷)(50%)+课程论文/案例报告(50%)

C;考勤/作业(30%)+课程论文/案例报告(70%)

D:其它

六.专业实践的要求

1.在论文开题报告前至少完成一篇研究报告。报告要求深入调查特定组织的管理实践问题,使用访谈、问卷和其它方法,分析诊断目标企业的管理实践问题,提供合理解决方案。由企业对报告给出评价,报告不少于5000字。

2.鼓励学生参与各种国家级竞赛,包括跨国公司管理,电子商务竞赛等。取得优异成绩和进人半决赛的同学,可以免交研究报告。

3.工商管理硕士的培养强调课堂讨论,案例研究和课外阅读。要求学生参与团队案例讨论、文献阅读和学习交流。

 

七.论文要求

1.论文题目和开题报告

论文写作是工商管理硕士教育的重要方法和检验标准。学生应在导师指导下独立完成论文。论文题目应紧密结合企业管理实践,内容应充分反映学生运用理论知识分析、解决实践问题的能力。论文写作可采用中文或英文。

根据论文题目,学生应上交开题报告。题目确定后,不允许更改。确实有特殊情况,需要调整题目的,学生应上交申请和新的开题报告,经导师允许后,报工商管理硕士培养中心备案后,方可更改。开题报告包括:研究背景和选题意义;文献综述;论文大纲;论文进度。

开题报告安排在第三学期,由工商管理硕士培养中心和导师共同组织。根据学生的开题报告和答辩情况,决定学生是否通过。未通过答辩的学生,需在制定时间内完成修改,未完成者不能加入论文写作阶段。

2.论文写作的要求

工商管理硕士的毕业论文可以是高水平的研究报告、对企业进行研究或对企业管理案例分析基础上的诊断报告。论文应具备个人的观点和思想。英文3万字或中文2万字左右。写作时间不少于6个月。

3.答辩

论文答辩的申请按照《石家庄铁道大学硕士论文答辩和学位申请程序》执行。论文需要有两位具有高级职称的专家审查。通过审查后,工商管理硕士培养中心和导师组织答辩。答辩委员会至少由三位具有高级职称的专家组成。通过答辩后,经学院级和校级学术委员会批准,授予学生工商管理硕士学位。

IIntroduction of Master of Business Administration

As one of a professional degree, Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed to develop the pragmatic, complex and application-oriented high-level management personnel with global vision, social responsibility and the spirit of innovation, knowing modern business management theory and certain practical experience and skills to meet the social requirement. The characteristic of this professional training is that candidates all have gained certain working experiences. Their capability to handle enterprises management issues will be effectively improved through systematic theory study and practical training.

According to characteristics of the International Students, MBA (international students) program is to develop the new business leaders and senior international professional managers who will possess a global strategic vision; and are good at cross-cultural communication; and will master the knowledge of the operation of capital, corporate finance, international finance and international business.

IIITraining objectives and requirements

The program aims to develop high-quality management personnel, professional managers and entrepreneurs who are with strategy vision and pioneering spirit, with in-depth functional knowledge and practical application capabilities and team-oriented.

 

IVTraining method & years of study

  1. Tutor of the MBA students should be professor or associate professor with the guidance qualification of graduate. Arrangement of the tutor follows two-way choice. Students submit research direction and tutor, and MBA education center determine the final tutor under its coordination.
  2. The teaching approach is based on a combination of lectures, case studies and other interactive studies. The teaching content should concise and combine theory with practice, emphasize on the training of creative thinking and practical management. International student teaching requires using of bilingual languages.
  3. A research report for each MBA student is required. Research report can be conducted in various forms in accordance with the actual situation of the students. It can be in-depth investigation on business management experience and problems; it also can be case preparation with a combination of analysis and research.
  4. Aims to improve thesis writing specification level, thesis & case writing methods are available in MBA elective courses.
  5. Years (The period) of study is generally 2.5~4 years.

VCurriculum, credit requirements and assessment methods

With reference to international MBA training programs and state regulations, with combined with the actual situation of the university, credit system has been taken into the courses study. The minimum credit from courses for MBA international students is 46 credits. Most of which are gained by passing the exam (open book or closed book). Courses are divided into three types: public course, foundation courses and specialization courses. 20 credits for public courses, 8 credits for foundation courses, 12 credits for specialization required courses and more than 6 credits for specialization elective courses. Assessment approach including:

Approach A : participation/assignment(30%)+final exam (closed book)(70%);

Approach B : exam (closed book)(50%)+ course paper/case report (50%);

Approach C : participation/assignment(30%)+ course paper/case report (70%);

Approach D: Others test.

It also depends on what lectures assigned.

 

VIRequirements of professional practice

  1. At least one research report has been completed before submit research proposal for the MBA international students. The report requires in-depth investigation aimed at one specific organization’s management practical issues, using interviews, questionnaires and other methods, analyzing and diagnosing the target enterprise’s problem and providing reasonable solution. The comments from the target against the report are required. The report should not be less than 5000 words.
  2. Encourage MBA international students to participate in all kind of national practical competition in terms of Challenge of International Corporation Management, e-commerce competition and others. For the one who achieved excellent grades and entered the semi-finalist, research report could be exempted.
  3. MBA program emphasizes class discussion, case studies and extra-curricular reading processes. Students are required conducting case discussion, literature reading and learning exchanges based on team.

VIIThesis requirements

  1. Thesis topic and the research proposal

The writing of thesis is an important approach and measure to examine the MBA education and its training objectives. It should be done by the student alone under the guidance of tutor. The thesis topic should be closely integrated with business management practices, and the contents should fully reflect the capability of applying the theoretical knowledge to analysis, and solving management practical issues. Either English or Chinese are allowed in writing thesis.

Based on the topic, the student should submit a research proposal. Once the topic has been confirmed, no modification is allowed. If there do have some specific status in which require modifying the topic, the student should submit an application and a new research proposal. With the

approval of the tutor, record by MBA Education Center, the student could conduct the writing. The research proposal includes: Background and significance of the topic, Literature review, Outline, Schedule of the thesis.

The examination of the research proposal arranges at the third semester, conducted by MBA center and the tutor. It assesses the student’s research proposal and the performance in proposal defense, and makes judgment whether pass or not based on assessment. For the one who failed in the assessment, it is required modification in limited times. For the one who did not modify the proposal as required can’t move to the writing phase.

  1. Thesis writing requirements

MBA graduate thesis can be high-level specific research paper, high-quality diagnostic reports based on enterprises research or case study on business management.

Thesis must have its own views and ideas. About 30,000 English words or 20,000 Chinese words are required. The time spending on the writing should not be less than six months.

  1. Oral Defense

The applicant of thesis oral defense should follow the regulation of “Master Degree Thesis Oral Defense and Degree Application Procedures of Shijiazhuang Tiedao University”.

The thesis requires two experts with senior professional titles to review. After through the Review, the MBA Education Center and the tutor organize the oral defense. The defense committee is composed by at least 3 experts with senior professional titles. After through the thesis, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee in both school level and university level, the student will be granted degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA).
